Dr. Tyler Whiting was born and raised in the Alexandria area. After graduating from Minnesota State University, Mankato; he went on to the University of Minnesota to receive his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree graduating in the top three of his class. After dental school, Dr. Whiting was commissioned as an officer in the US Air Force. He then completed a rigorous Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. He received extensive training during the residency to include dental implant placement, orthodontics, complex extractions, sleep apnea, TMD treatment, as well as advances in digital dentistry.
After the residency, he was stationed at Royal Air Force Lakenheath in England for three years and then at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. He thoroughly enjoyed providing dental care to service members and their families while on active duty. Dr. Whiting is passionate about optimizing a patient’s oral health and how it can impact their overall well being. He is avid about continuing education and providing patients with the latest evidenced base dentistry.
Dr. Whiting joined our team in Aug 2019 and he continues to serve our country as part of the Minnesota Air National Guard with the 148th Fighter Wing in Duluth, MN. He is excited to once again call Alexandria home together with his wife (Maggie) and four children (Henry, Eloise, Theodore, and Georgia). In his free time, you will mostly likely find Dr. Whiting spending time with his family. Other activities that you many find him doing include traveling, hunting or golfing.
