Dr. Paul Odland is a southern Minnesota native from Luverne, MN. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Mankato State University and then attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1985. Dr. Odland has served as a faculty member at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, working with residents in the Family Dentistry Clinic. During his time there, he frequently provided dentistry for individuals who were deaf and/or blind. Dr. Odland is a previously appointed member and chairperson to the Governor’s Planning Council on Developmental Disabilities, as well as a member of the Minnesota Department of Education Advisory Council on Deaf-Blindness. We proudly welcomed him to our team in 1993. 

Dr. Odland enjoys fishing, hunting, boating, traveling, photography, and spending time with his sons and granddaughters. His eldest son Ryan, after graduating from Gallaudel University with a Masters Degree, is employed by Helen Keller National Center as the North Central Region’s supervisor. He oversees a six state area for individuals with deaf blindness. Ryan is married; they have two daughters, now living in Elk River, MN. Will attends North Dakota State University, majoring in Industrial Engineering and Management. Wade attends Bemidji State University, majoring in Construction Management. Wyatt attends Alexandria Area High School, involved with three sports and band.

Dentistry at the Center is temporarily closed to non-emergency care per the Minnesota Board of Dentistry

As expected, the guidance regarding COVID-19 is rapidly changing. The two governing bodies for dentistry in Minnesota (the Minnesota Board of Dentistry and the Minnesota Dental Association) have issued an official joint statement. They are strongly recommending that all dentists practicing in Minnesota suspend nonessential dental care for the next 14 days to help slow the spread of the virus.  


We are taking this recommendation very serious and we want to do the right thing for our community. This means that Dentistry at the Center will be open for emergency care only. This helps prevent our hospital and urgent care clinics from becoming overwhelmed. Patients who present with a dental emergency to our clinic will be screened for the COVID-19 virus per the CDC recommendations.
